EXCITED pupils rubbed shoulders with cricket legends and receive expert training at Essex County Cricket Club.
Children from St Peter’s Primary School, in Sible Hedingham, were invited to the County Ground in Chelmsford as part of National Cricket Week on Monday.
The youngsters had lessons with expert coaches and watched the game between Essex and Somerset.
They also chatted with record-breaking former England captain Sir Alastair Cook and Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle.
The day was part of the Chance-to-Shine initiative which gives children expert coaching from professionals.
Essex’s Charlotte Read has been coaching Year Four children at St Peter’s since the start of the year.
