Halstead's new walking football club a big success
If you think your footballing days are over, think again!
Walking football clubs are springing up across the country, and a football mad Halstead resident has set up a club so others can now enjoy the beautiful game at a slower pace.
John Smith, 69, of Beech Avenue, Halstead, ran the first session last Saturday at Halstead Leisure Centre and was pleased to welcome eight keen footballers to join him.
Mr Smith said: “I have wanted to form a team for years and finally managed to arrange our first session."
The team meets every Saturday at 10am at Halstead Leisure Centre.
