Plans to turn an empty shop into an ornamental radiator cover store are still going ahead, according to the agents.
Halstead Curtains and Carpets Co, in Mount Hill, Halstead, has been empty since 2010, when owner Paul Stannard retired after running the shop for 17 years.
Rumours have been circulating for two years that a company selling ornamental radiator covers was interested in using the shop and this had been confirmed by a spokesman for Cheffins, the agents for the property.
The spokesman added: “A let was agreed some time ago - about two years ago."
