Enjoy a beautiful winter’s walk through blankets of snowdrops at Hedingham Castle next month.
The castle, in Castle Hedingham, is kicking off it’s events season with several Snowdrop Sundays beginning on February 9.
The delicate flowers cover the steep slopes of the motte and bailey and surround the tree and lakes in front of the Georgian mansion house.
Thirteen different varieties were planted during the 19th century, which Simon Orr, general manager at the castle, believes makes the winter gardens “possibly the most romantic in the East of England.”
The castle will be open between 11am and 4pm for each Snowdrop Sunday, which are being held on February 9, 16 and March 2.
Normal admission prices apply: adults £7.50, children and concessions £5, family tickets £19 and one adult family tickets available at £10.
