Residents are being plagued by Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Halstead resident Aaron Letch, 28, said they knock every couple of days on his door, despite him telling them he is not interested.
The builder, of Mount Pleasant, said: “I often see cars pulling up and ten to 15 of them piling out when I am at work.
“I have had them knocking on my door as well.
“We get a lot of cold callers in Halstead.
“The Jehovah’s Witnesses can be quite rude because they won’t take no for an answer.
“They still keep knocking on the door, even when we have said we are not interested.
“I do worry about the elderly as they might get forced into doing something they don’t want to.”
Mike Woodison, on behalf of Halstead Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, said: “As I'm sure you will appreciate, the reports received of individuals feeling “ harassed” is of concern to us.
“Both as an organisation and as individuals, we are anxious to avoid confrontation with householders or to force our message on others.
“Rather, we endeavour to treat others with deep respect and kindly reassure them that we will comply with their wishes should they prefer us not to call.”
