Readers have come up with a variety of explanations in response to last week’s UFO story.
Satellites and lanterns were some of the suggestions put forward after the Gazette ran a story about a teenager baffled by lights moving across the night sky.
Reece Day, 18, had spotted the lights from his girlfriend’s garden in Steeple Bumpstead as well as from his home in Rosemary Avenue, Braintree.
One villager said: “One possible suggestion for the sightings is that he is witnessing the chinese lanterns that myself and others have been sending up some evenings from villages around Halstead."
