FIREFIGHTERS extinguished a car fire in a Halstead supermarket car park today.
Two crews from Halstead were called to a car fire in the Weavers Court Co-op car park at 11.30am this morning.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire just after midday.
The cause has been recorded as accidental and the car has been completely destroyed.
On arrival the fire had engulfed the whole engine, and firefighters asked for another appliance to attend due to other vehicles being close within the car park and the risk of fire spreading to those unaffected.
Two sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reels were used to extinguish the fire.
