Firefighters were called to a pub after a boat parked outside caught fire.
Crews arrived at the Drum, in High Street, Earls Colne, at 11pm yesterday, to find the boat was fully alight.
The boat, which was situated near outbuildings behind the pub, was tackled by two fire crews from Halstead using two hose reels.
The blaze was put out by 11.55pm.
An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "A fire investigation will be carried out to establish the cause."
